Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actress, dancer and performer since the beginning of the 1990s. She started her Broadway career with musicals such as Wicked, Legally Blonde, and Hair. Her role on stage in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel was rewarded with the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actress in the Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford is a veteran of the majority of her career collaborating with acclaimed directors and actors across the stage, film and TV and she is continuing her award-winning project with various upcoming ones. Ashford next will star opposite Kumail in Robert Siegel's exclusive Hulu program Welcome to Chippendales which premieres the 22nd of November. Ashford is currently in production on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will stream through Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford is set to appear opposite Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre during the march 2023 revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same team who brought us Hamilton directed the production. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp during the national crisis. For two seasons, she was the main character of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. She also appeared in the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured the legendary actresses Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford has won both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde is among her other Broadway performances. Ashford is from the city of Denver origins native, and now splits his time in Los Angeles.
